A Poem

by Greyzone

An nighttime encounter ....

I took a walk when it was still light
I was lost in thought about stuff and things
It wasn't till the coming of night
That I became aware of something that sings.
It was made more strange by the deepening fog
It made me turn cold and I started to sweat
The sounds became louder the further I went
Could it be haunted this place that I'm in?
The sound was now low like a junk yard dog
From the back of it's throat there rose such a growl
It was a most terrible thing this unholy howl
But what could I do but face such a thing
I turned very quickly to see what was my fate
And I saw to my horror a fate worse than death
It was The Demon's Monkey whose presence I met!
RIP
